Frequently Asked Questions
How does KCS handle the differences in doctrinal beliefs of its students?Christian Doctrine (Belief Principles) is very important. We recognize the fact that we have students from different denominations at KCS. No student is forced to change their Christian belief in a certain teaching to fit at KCS. However we do strongly emphasize the main Christian Doctrine of Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe all doctrine must line up with the Bible.
Do I have to attend Kingood Church for my child to be a student at KCS?No, but we would love for you to!
Actually most of our students and families attend churches other than Kingwood Church. We do strongly emphasize the importance of regular church attendance.
Does KCS offer scholarships? There are some scholarship students at KCS. These are made possible by individual donors or alumni who love our school and the students. At this time we do not have a scholarship program or policy in place, but we are working on one. All applications are recieved on a provisional basis and are reviewed to see if there are scholarship funds available.
Can individuals or companies contribute to KCS and recieve tax credit?Yes. KCS is a not for profit education 501-C(3) organization. The tuition and fees for services the students pay is not tax deductible, but giving above and beyond is. Actually that is an important part of how KCS operates. The tuition is not enough to cover all the school expenses and development. We welcome contributions, please call Stacie or Diane in the accounting department for assistance with this.
Is KCS an accredited school?Good question, the answer is yes. We are accredited by both the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) and by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
